The Opportunity

McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada is seeking a dynamic and skilled Partnerships & Procurement Manager to support our portfolio of vendors within the people space. This role is crucial to ensuring we can deliver a strong employee experience, via partnership with staffing agencies, who are effectively integrated and managed, a Fleet Management partner provider who delivers a compelling program, Service Awards, and more.

As a values-driven franchisor, we aim to strengthen our support for both Owner/Operators and our McOpCo partners by streamlining international recruitment processes. To achieve this goal, we are seeking a leader who can provide expertise and collaborate with key stakeholders, including Human Resources, Supply Chain, Owner/Operators, Corporate Staff, and external agencies and/or vendors.

Position Description

The Partnerships & Procurement Manager will focus on:

  • International Staffing Agency Onboarding & Performance Management: Develop and implement onboarding processes for international staffing agencies. Monitor and evaluate the performance of staffing agencies, ensuring compliance with company standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for agency-related issues and inquiries for our Owner/Operators and McOpCo partners.

  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure the best terms and prices, while maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and partners. Ensure procurement practices align with McDonald’s policies, objectives, and legal obligations. Develop and manage the business relationship between McDonald’s and its suppliers, including compensation programs and performance models. Convey McDonald’s Global Supplier Expectations and conduct formal supplier reviews.

  • Policy & Compliance: Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This will involve working closely with our legal team, and staying current with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting procurement and staffing.

  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to procurement and vendor management, ensuring timely and successful completion by collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and deliverables.

  • Fleet Program Management: Oversee the fleet management program, ensuring adherence to SLA and maintain an efficient and cost-effective program. Coordinate with vendor on any escalations and manage contracts.

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and promote working relationships within McDonald's and with external professional organizations to gain and share knowledge. Develop relationships with suppliers and departments involved in the supply chain category by establishing and building open lines of communication. Provide ongoing coaching and training to other department staff and suppliers, including setting McDonald’s supply chain expectations for new suppliers.

Qualifications:

Our ideal Partnerships & Procurement Manager will have:

  • Your Experience: Significant experience (5 to 7 years or more) in procurement, vendor management, or a related field. Proven track record in managing partnerships, vendor relationships and experience in fleet management.

  • Your Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are an asset.

  • Your Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated ability to identify, gather information and data, present options, and partner with stakeholders to effectively and creatively resolve complex vendor management matters.

  • The ability to drive Project Management: Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodology and experience both as an individual contributor and as a Project Lead. Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Your Communication and Influencing Skills: Ability to draft policy and procedure and communicate this effectively. Building influence with stakeholders inside and outside McDonald’s will be key to success. The successful candidate will be able to establish credibility quickly as an expert source of counsel and drive the agenda forward.

  • Your Personal Attributes: A consultative approach that engages stakeholders collaboratively. Strong initiative and excellent judgment with tact, empathy, and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive situations.

  • Bilingualism: Proficiency in both English and French is a significant advantage.
