Job Description:

Hybrid Working

This role is based in our East Finchley office working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

The Opportunity 

We are looking for an engaging and enthusiastic person to join our Impact (communications) Team (FTC 12 months), who enjoys variety within their role and working in a fast paced environment to deliver results.

A passion for McDonald’s is essential, and the role would suit someone with experience in Corporate campaigns and media, who is a confident media handler - and thrives on building both internal and external relationships, and managing multiple opportunities at once.

The role will suit a motivated, self-starting individual who enjoys working as part of a team.

What will my accountabilities be?

  • Supporting on corporate communications for the UK business; from key campaign activation's to drafting press releases and liaising with media.

  • Drafting briefing documents and supporting senior stakeholders with external speaking opportunities and media interviews.

  • Managing the Press Office - working with the Impact Media Officer to offer expert advice on media enquiries (liaising with Franchisees and wider teams within the business to write and issue press statements).

  • Managing Regional Communications - working closely with our agency partners to identify key areas opportunities to deliver exciting stories to help build trust at a local level. A key part of this responsibility will be to work cross-functionally with the wider Impact Team to update them on regional activity and find ways to further leverage these opportunities. 

  • Out of hours Press Office support.

What Team will I be a part of?

This role sits within the Impact Team who are responsible for all UK & Ireland communications. 

Who are my customers?

  • The wider department: reporting into Senior Strategic Communications Manager, and working closely with the Impact Media Officer and the wider Comms Team   

  • Internal audiences: working with a range of departments across the business including Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, People, Marketing, Franchising 

  • External audiences: media, consumers and stakeholders

What background do I need to have?

  • Significant in house or agency experience

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to learn 

  • Synthesize information quickly 

  • Adapt quickly and easily to new or changing conditions 

  • Demonstrate a genuine desire and capacity to understand and relate to others
