McDonald's Facilities Maintenance Technician in KEARNEY, Nebraska

Description:

Locally owned and operated McDonald's looking to fill a Facilities Maintenance Technician Position to work in our 12 restaurants across central Nebraska.

Job Summary:

  • Oversees the performance & maintenance of machines & equipment in restaurants

  • Full-time position

  • Experience, required

  • Technical training, preferred

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair broken equipment

  • Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facility’s equipment and systems.

  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines and equipment.

  • Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.

  • Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.

  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.

  • Orders and installs replacement parts.

  • Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns.

  • Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.

  • Prepares reports documenting work performed.

  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains parts, tools, and supplies.

  • Coordinates with primary maintenance & managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.

  • Collaborates with managers regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.

  • Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.

  • Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.

  • Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.

  • Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Works well independently and with others.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.

  • Previous experience in related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.

  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
