Job Description:

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Strategy and Planning Team, which is focused on ensuring the Global Tech strategy is real and is realized. Specifically, the Operations Excellence team’s role is to ensure we run Tech like a business, focused on external brand building, operations, employee experience and culture development.

The Supervisor, Operational Excellence (OpEx) will report to the Manager, OpEx and will support execution of operational and communication activities for overall Global Tech and Strategy & Planning.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Partners with OpEx team to lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication and partner engagement strategies, enabling high employee engagement

  • Advises and supports development of effective communications that tell our Global Tech story across internal and external brand channels (organization engagement channels, social media, recruitment messaging etc)

  • Responsible for bringing innovative ways and procedures surrounding the Technology communications (seeking efficiencies, new insights and ultimately, effectiveness) and identifies and applies new, creative ways to reach and engage external audiences through content and other new online and offline approaches.

  • Partners with OpEx team on the execution and planning efforts of key routines and engagement events that create awareness and advocacy of the Tech story and high employee engagement

  • Serve as jr. editor for a key storytelling platform, our external Tech Blog, which serves as a critical recruitment tool. Participate in bi-monthly Ed. Board meetings and support editing/review process, if/as needed. Contribute stories and draft amplification templates.

  • Supports OpEx team on leadership communications for the S&P team.

  • Manage overall editorial calendar and leadership communications for VP, S&P

  • Craft and ask for input for executive-level communications.

  • Supply prompt input to leadership scripts, narratives, talking points for S&P

  • Support materials for leadership meetings, conversations, and events

  • Create opportunities for team talent development and to align with Global People activities.

  • Align with and cultivate opportunities for education and training.

  • Find skill needs and forecast skill development areas.

  • Assess opportunities to build communities, use surveys, or create action plans.

  • Partner with peer OpEx teams across Global Tech to ensure consistency.

  • Provide support to, Director OpEx, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with a variety of organizational practices, including operations management, human resources management, and leadership communications.

  • Experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, or similar roles.

  • Knowledge and ability to discover, design, and implement standard processes.

  • Able to navigate complexity, various partner needs, while delivering tangible outcomes.

  • Ability to work across diverse teams to enable change and establish operational cadences.

  • Solid understanding of business practices, organizational practices, and governance processes.

  • Experience building team culture and organizational culture.

  • 2-5 years’ experience working in business, technology, organizational effectiveness, communications or other related areas.

  • Comfortable working across local and international teams, on-site, hybrid, and virtual environments.

  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365 / O365, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).

  • Able to show experience with or potential to learn Smartsheet and other digital tools.

  • Comfortable working with leadership, technology, human resource, operational, communications, and finance teams.

  • Ability to collaborate with technical team members, technical language, and offer translation towards general business or executive audiences.

  • Capable of being structured and methodical, while also flexible and adaptable to changing organization needs, technology innovation, and organizational transformation.
