Job Description

The Sr. Fraud Analyst supports the Global Fraud Manager by tracking and monitoring all forms of cashless payment fraud within McDonald’s US & International Restaurants. The main activities include manual review to fine tune the fraud models efficiently, manage and monitor the fraud solutions in place, and track fraud related key performance indicators. The Sr. Fraud Analyst maintains regular contact with our fraud solution vendors, collaborating with them to understand the efficiency on how the risk assessment solutions are performing. Additionally, the Fraud Supervisor follows up on fraud related issues reported from customers, owner-operators, or market teams by understanding, investigating, and resolving the issue.

Description of Duties:

  • Maintains fraud analysis models to improve efficiency and effectiveness of company systems.

  • Ensures confidentiality of all information collected during investigation.

  • Ensures compliance with established processes and procedures

  • Understand existing solution design and how/where risk assessments are made. Using this knowledge, support and recommend enhancements to the cashless payment capabilities.

  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (aka KPIs, e.g. acceptance rate, block rate, workflow performance) related to fraud performance; find opportunities for improvement and best-practices.

  • Tracks chargeback rates at the store level to identify at-risk stores and determine adjustments to the risk assessment for these locations.

  • Identifies system improvements to prevent fraudulent activities.

  • Monitors real time queues, customer and transactional records to identify unauthorized transactions, fraudulent accounts, and false positives.

  • Resolves queued transactions within the service level agreements to reduce potential revenue losses.

  • Analyzes accounts and transaction patterns to determine existing fraud trends. Manages and monitors risk assessment workflows on ongoing basis

  • Interacts with banks, franchisees, and customers to validate information and to confirm or cancel authorizations.

  • Reviews chargeback disputes and creates disputing templates for new products.

  • Investigates gift card fraud trends, in-store fraud trends, or other digital fraud losses.

  • Trains agents how to dispute chargebacks, calculate success rates

  • Partners with other teams to solve for unique problems.

Qualifications

Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.

  • Strong Experience with Excel formulas, organization, and analysis. Proficient in Word & PowerPoint.

  • 2+ years in e-commerce fraud or payments related role

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral are critical to success.

  • Curiosity to ask questions and find answers.

  • Natural enjoyment of exploring data, analytics, and gleaning insights.

  • Initiative and openness for other tasks and responsibilities as needed.

  • BA/BS Degree
