Job Description:

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Commercial Product & Platform, where our vision is to develop technology that delights our customers and enables our crew to operate our restaurants optimally and effectively!

The Manager, Tech Lead (TL) will oversee the technical solutions and delivery of various restaurant systems, including Point of Sale (POS), Kitchen Management System (KVS), Back Office, Digital Menu Boards (DMB), Payments, Kiosk, Mobile App & Web shared services. You will collaborate closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to bring to life the future of technology solutions. The ideal candidate for this role will be a successful individual with a broad range of expertise across multiple disciplines and a proven track record of success in various functions. You should become comfortable with ambiguity and agile ways of working, lead with a figure-it-out attitude, and be open to evolving your role and responsibilities as our work rapidly evolves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the product manager to manage relations with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) partners and digital agency partners.

  • Lead all aspects of software and hardware development/implementation of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) partners' systems for POS, KVS, Kiosk, DMBs, Payment, back-office system etc.

  • Lead deployment/upgrade planning and coordination, including prioritizing defects impacting customers and the restaurant team.

  • Partner closely with tech leadership to align on scalable technology solutions for concept locations.

  • Lead the coordination of full technology deployment in stores, supervising network infrastructure setup, POS/KVS installation, Back-Office PC deployment, training resources, etc.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and specifications for backend systems.

  • Develop and optimize processes for Jira, deployment, and intake, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical education and 5+ years of technology experience.

  • Experience working with third-party suppliers.

  • Deep understanding of hardware, software integration, architecture, design patterns, database design, and application security.

  • Solid experience in developing end-to-end restaurant technology products and services operating in high-performance, distributed systems.

  • Superb communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical partners.

  • Flexibility for travel (10-15%) across U.S. geographies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retail experience - Point of sale systems or kitchen management solutions

  • Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations, geographies, and business units
