Job Description

As the Manager, Planning and Initiative Management within US Learning Optimization, you will be part of the Learning & Development Center of Excellence (COE) during a period of unprecedented innovation and advancement. You will partner across Global Learning & Development and with cross functional sponsors and partners leading and supporting efforts to evolve, build, reinvent and ultimately scale robust solutions across the system in the US Market. This work is aimed at enabling people to learn in ways that drive consistent, high performance, for individuals and the business (as articulated in the Own our Ambition strategic plan). You will report to the Director, US Learning Optimization, and lead a team of individuals managing projects and evaluating and measuring the impact of learning solutions across the US Market.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Orchestrate the US Market Learning Strategy; creating alignment with the broader global learning strategy and ensuring the integration of important US Market needs and priorities.

  • Create alignment and maximize efficiency through frequent and continuous collaboration, planning and advocacy with critical partners and processes.

  • With oversight of multiple projects and partnerships, establish governance process and protocols, look for alignments, opportunities to simplify and iterate to continuously improve and create consistency/scale.

  • Lead a team of 2 individuals (direct reports), providing continuous direction, coaching, guidance and support for ongoing performance and professional development.

  • Frequently engage with key stakeholders, cross-functional partners, franchise owners and learners to conduct needs analyses, define requirements and develop a variety of important/relevant learning solutions, systems and platforms.

  • Provide guidance on content design and development specific to the US Market needs and priorities and collaborate on and contribute to global design and development work, advocating and influencing for the US Market.

  • Ensure quality work is delivered on time and on budget via strong project management. Identify integration opportunities to create seamless connections between multiple priorities and projects.

  • Manage partner engagement, including external vendors, to ensure collaboration, sponsorship and relevancy of strategic project work.

  • Define and manage our Learning Measurement + Analytics strategy and tools for the US Market, ensuring alignment with global strategy. This includes defining metrics and level of successful evaluation for all learning solutions; as well as ownership of learning impact reports and dashboards.

  • Audit, analyze, and manage all US Learning and Development budgets.

  • Keep pace with both business and functional L&D knowledge, and apply this effectively to optimize learning solutions and improve the learner’s experience.

  • Ability and willingness to travel at times. (15-25%).

  • Location: Remote within the United States field offices.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree ; PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • Minimum three years of experience in learning & development with a broad focus to include design, delivery, learning technology/systems, learning measurement and project management.

  • Previous management experience supervising a high performance team.

  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills. Ability to create alignment and collaboration with a record of accomplishment of improving overall performance; ability to set direction and motivate team on what is possible.

  • Practical experience applying adult learning theory and principles.

  • Exceptional project management skills; on complex and evolving work with ability to develop project plans, charters, project assets and timelines for multiple projects and initiatives.

  • Proven experience developing and implementing measurement strategies, creating tools and reports to illustrate results and drive continuous improvement.

  • Advanced data analytical skills; and the ability to advocate and influence learning strategies and methods based on data trends.

  • Excellent social, communication and presentation skills. Solid influencing, negotiation and advocacy skills to champion and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, peers, subordinates and other key partners. Ability to engage with people at all levels of an organization, from crew to franchise owners.

  • Strong business insight, with the ability to credibly make a business case, by linking current and anticipated business challenges with learning and development solutions.

  • Experience working cross-culturally with varied colleagues in a global environment.
