Job Description:

McDonald’s Treasury seeks to drive business growth and enhance stakeholder value by providing world-class global financial leadership and expertise to the McDonald’s System. Guided by McDonald’s Values, the Treasury team works as trusted business partners to protect and build the McDonald’s brand by improving System access to capital and liquidity, safeguarding Company assets, managing financial risks, and providing the business with financial counsel, education and expertise to make informed decisions.

Following a hybrid work schedule out of our global HQ in Chicago, the Global Treasury Manager will serve as a key member of the Global Treasury Team. The incumbent will report to the Director of Treasury Operations and lead a team of two treasury analysts. They will be responsible for the optimization of corporate treasury operations, short-term borrowing, investments, cash forecasting and bank management. The incumbent will also assist in building and executing the vision and roadmap for key treasury initiatives.  

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise day-to-day cash management to achieve optimal results of daily cash position, liquidity and forecasting

  • Develop robust cash flow forecast with variance analysis in partnership with Capital Markets, Global Funding and other internal teams

  • Lead monthly reporting package issued to SLT on treasury items such as Cash Forecast, Investment Portfolio, Debt levels, Repatriation Plan, etc.

  • Manage and maintain the company’s banking infrastructure at both the corporate and store level, including bank accounts, products, services, security administration, documentation, open/closure of accounts, and maintenance of signers.

  • Lead bank account optimization and rationalization, bank fees & balance analysis and recommendations, and annual FBAR reporting in collaboration with the tax team

  • Take ownership/implement and coordinate a broad range of Treasury projects which may include liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, TMS implementation or banking solutions.

  • Identify and direct the implementation of process improvements throughout the treasury function with an immediate focus on automation, workload reduction, operational improvements and/or Treasury transformation

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX/audit policies, and procedures in day-to-day conduct and supervision of cash management activities.

  • Provide treasury guidance to cross-functional business partners on various cash management/treasury related projects and questions

  • Lead and coach a team of two; support the development of a best-in-class Treasury function. 

  • Act as a backup for the team as needed in handling daily cash

  • Lead and support ad hoc treasury requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required; CTP, CPA or MBA is preferred.

  • 8+ years of advancing Treasury, Corporate Finance or Accounting experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required; Tableau and other data visualization software is highly preferred.

  • Experience using and/or implementing a TMS and/or using various banking platforms.

  • Strong understanding of corporate and international financial management concepts.

  • Previous experience leading a team of direct and indirect reports.

  • Critical thinker with ability to understand, develop and assess comprehensive implications of actions and processes.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and overall attention to detail.

  • Ability to facilitate multiple workstreams concurrently and work cross functionally particularly in global organizations.
