Job Description:

Effectively lead the Supply Chain function in the field office, focused on ensuring: Supply Chain Strategy Execution; Distribution Center Readiness; Supporting Brand Trust; and bringing the McDonald’s Three-Legged Stool to life in the Region.  The successful candidate will lead through influence by articulating the "Value of Supply Chain" emphasizing: Relationship Building; the Product Value/Cost relationship (including Product Quality); and Assured Supply for the System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides transparent and active leadership in the field office and uses resources as required from Home Office, Suppliers and Franchisees.

  • Responsible for the successful execution of supply chain initiatives and activities in the Market as well as consistently effective 2-way communications

  • Key customers include field office staff and management, home office staff and management, NSLC Leadership and representatives, suppliers, and franchisees.

  • Candidate must be willing to travel 5-20% within and outside the markets.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Supply Chain strategies in regions to Accelerate Profitable Growth

  • Develops plans to support market goals, and establishes comprehensive plans to assist in deploying US Supply Chain sourcing strategies

  • Collaborates with Deployment and Marketing at the regional level to ensure optimal plan execution.

  • Communicates and implements supply chain optimization strategies for the U.S. Business within designated Home Office territory.

  • Develops and manages execution/migration plans for supply chain initiatives to enhance understanding and gain support from Market Leadership and Owner/Operators.

  • Implements new product introductions, supply chain and supplier changes, and managed depletion and phase out of menu items and products and other managed supply chain processes through assigned DC(s).

  • Demonstrates financial knowledge to understand and evaluate annual DC Budgets and Financial Performance throughout the year.

  • Collaborates with DC leadership in the development of Distribution Center action plans to close the gap between current performance and cost with minimum standards.

  • Ensures feasibility and execution of local supplier and DC contingency plans.

  • Helps identify and mitigate food safety and quality risks throughout the Supply Chain.

  • Ensures products meet quality and food safety standards. Bring the Three-Legged Stool to Life in the Field Offices:

  • Takes an active role in building strong business relationships with suppliers, staff and McDonald's franchisees.

  • Uses opportunities to educate Market Leadership & Owner/Operators on supply chain value (e.g., competitive validation, commodity updates, strategy execution).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent-Supply Chain, Business, Finance preferred

  • 5+ years' experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Restaurant Operations preferred

  • Ability to impact and influence; build the case for change

  • Communicates effectively (written, oral, and presentation)

  • Strong financial knowledge

  • Collaboration and relationship building skills

  • Continuous improvement with a creative approach and strong leadership skills

  • Project management skills

  • Ability to execute according to a plan

  • Self-starter who works well independently
