Experienced Shift Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. You will provide leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure great Quality, Service and Cleanliness to customers. Shift Managers perform a variety of tasks, which may include planning for each shift, monitoring performance during the shift, taking action to ensure the team is meeting McDonald’s standards, monitoring safety, security, and profitability, and communicating with the next Shift Manager to help prepare him/her to run a great shift, too. Shift Managers may also be responsible for meeting targets during their shifts and for helping their assigned Departments meet their goals. Shift Managers also play an important role in running great restaurants by:

  • Motivates and coaches Crew Members, and assists in the training of new Crew Members

  • Identify and resolve any bottlenecks, pain points, and other opportunities.

  • Plan, train, and develop team on a continual basis.

  • Listen to team members, maintain and open-door policy, and help develop the team.

  • Collaborate with other leaders on identifying and building emerging leaders.

  • Engage with the entire team to help maintain Positive Employee Relations across the entire restaurant and maintain culture through detailed and regular accountability.

  • Help implement cultures, mindsets, and systems to accomplish consistency in achieving strategic objectives and specific measures of success.

  • Supervising food safety and cleanliness procedures to ensure the team is meeting McDonald's standards

  • Communicating effectively with Crew and the next Shift Managers to help them prepare to run a great shift, too

  • Achieving targets during their shifts and help departments meet their goals

  • Taking action to monitor safety, security, inventory and profitability

  • Managing Crew schedules and encouraging high performance during their shift

  • Providing exceptional customer service and quality food production

  • Training new team members on critical job functions

Previous leadership experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant hospitality environment. We’re looking for positive team players with a flexible schedule who like to have fun, with the passion to work the famously fast paced McDonald’s environment. You must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our corporate owned and operated restaurants.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years’ leadership experience managing a team

  • Experience leading talent development in a diverse organization is desired.

  • This person must have or be willing to gain mastery of operations in a McDonald’s restaurant, remain highly engaged with the team, work on their feet all-day in a fast-paced setting, and be able to lift 40 pounds on a consistent basis.

  • This person must have or be willing to engage in and gain, thorough hands-on approach, an understanding of operations in a McDonald’s restaurant and enjoy a manual labor and/or physical aspect of the operations.
